About the Role
Join Lidl Ireland as a Customer Assistant in Ballina, County Mayo, where your main mission is to craft and deliver an exceptional shopping experience for all our customers. This role requires working on a 30-hour standard contract, with shifts varying throughout the day to keep the store running smoothly and customers satisfied.
Daily Activities
- Participate in early morning stock replenishment and bakery preparation, ensuring award-winning products are available by store opening.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, well-organized store environment, handling product freshness, and supporting customers during mid-morning and early afternoon shifts.
- Deliver excellent customer service during late shifts by operating tills, replenishing stock, and preparing the store for the following day.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with customers warmly and helpfully.
- Adhere strictly to stock loss prevention protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene both inside and outside the store.
- Implement product rotation and freshness standards.
- Manage waste properly and assist with stock counts.
Candidate Profile
- Exhibit a positive, can-do attitude combined with strong customer service skills.
- Show willingness to exceed expectations for customer satisfaction.
- Be reliable, responsible, and enjoy fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Work effectively within a team.
- Previous customer-facing experience is desirable but not mandatory if the right mindset is present.
- Must be 18 years or older as the role involves selling alcohol.

Salary Rates by Year
- Year 1: Basic €15.40/hr; Unsocial Hours €19.25/hr; Overtime/Sundays €23.10/hr; Bank Holiday €30.80/hr.
- Year 2: Basic €16.20/hr; Unsocial Hours €20.25/hr; Overtime/Sundays €24.30/hr; Bank Holiday €32.40/hr.
- Year 3: Basic €16.90/hr; Unsocial Hours €21.13/hr; Overtime/Sundays €25.35/hr; Bank Holiday €33.80/hr.
- Year 4: Basic €17.90/hr; Unsocial Hours €22.38/hr; Overtime/Sundays €26.85/hr; Bank Holiday €35.80/hr.
