As a Customer Assistant in Dungarvan, you will earn €460+ weekly on a standard 30-hour contract working onsite.
Typical Daily Activities
Working as a Customer Assistant involves flexible shifts and a variety of tasks. You will engage with customers, manage stock, and help maintain the store environment. Note that selling alcohol requires you to be at least 18 years old.
- Morning shifts start early (5-6am), focusing on stocking award-winning products and preparing bakery items fresh for opening.
- Middle shifts, starting mid-morning or early afternoon, involve maintaining cleanliness, product freshness, and assisting customers, including operating tills to reduce queue times.
- Late shifts concentrate on customer service at the till, replenishing stock, and prepping the store for the following day.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver friendly and helpful customer interaction.
- Comply with stock control procedures to minimize losses.
- Maintain hygiene and cleanliness standards internally and externally.
- Adhere to product freshness and stock rotation requirements.
- Manage waste following store guidelines.
- Support stocktaking processes.

- Enjoyment of teamwork and working in diverse roles.
- Prior customer-facing experience is advantageous but not mandatory when accompanied by the right mindset.
Compensation and Benefits

- Hourly rates range from €15.40 to €17.90, increasing with tenure and experience.
- Additional pay for unsocial hours (midnight to 7am), overtime, Sundays, and bank holidays.

Pay Scale Details
Year 1: Basic €15.40/hr, €19.25/hr unsocial hours, €23.10/hr overtime/Sundays, €30.80/hr bank holidays.
Year 2: Basic €16.20/hr, €20.25/hr unsocial hours, €24.30/hr overtime/Sundays, €32.40/hr bank holidays.
Year 3: Basic €16.90/hr, €21.13/hr unsocial hours, €25.35/hr overtime/Sundays, €33.80/hr bank holidays.
Year 4: Basic €17.90/hr, €22.38/hr unsocial hours, €26.85/hr overtime/Sundays, €35.80/hr bank holidays.
