Role Overview
The Cost Controller will be responsible for performing continuous analysis of process constraints, conducting target costing for projects, and tracing costs back to fundamental activities. Providing management with detailed costing information through cost allocation, follow-ups, and reporting is critical. Managing invoicing for various projects also forms a primary part of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee control activities, including measuring project costs, timelines, and scope aligned with contract terms.
- Plan, forecast, and monitor project cost estimates.
- Track project milestones and ensure targets are achieved.
- Validate scope documents by comparing them to contract scope and sales estimates.
- Prepare cost estimates and keep online cost forecasts current.
- Limit deviations using strict cost control and forecasting methods.
- Maintain tight oversight of subcontractor and supplier account costs.
- Produce periodic financial statements regarding project progress.
- Regularly report risks, opportunities, and possible cost deviations.
- Provide timely supporting documentation for project reviews.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Management, Accounting, or Finance.
- Previous experience in cost control or finance officer roles.
- Experience working for a reputable global construction or civil engineering firm.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is AUD 90,000 to AUD 100,000 per annum, plus superannuation.
