As a Reintegration Officer (Corrections Officer), you will play a crucial role in supporting prisoners' rehabilitation and safe reintegration within a secure environment. Working within a 24/7 roster, you help maintain security and foster a respectful, safe atmosphere.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensuring a secure and safe environment at all times
• Facilitating the intake process of prisoners including searches and supporting their daily routines and escorting within and beyond the facility
• Overseeing prisoners participating in rehabilitation and reintegration programs
• Maintaining detailed and accurate incident and administrative reports
• Developing positive relationships with prisoners, staff, and external organizations
• Monitoring prisoner activities and work assignments
• Contributing actively in team meetings to strengthen collaboration

Qualifications and Personal Attributes

• Possess a Full Class 1 Driver Licence
• Legal work rights as a New Zealand or Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, Resident, or holder of a full visa valid for a minimum of three years
• Flexibility to work during nights, weekends, and public holidays as part of a 24/7 rotation
• Willingness to complete NZQA Offender Management Level 3 training (experience preferred but not necessary)
• Strong English skills with the ability to write accurate reports on formal management systems
• Life experience and skills to effectively support prisoners’ reintegration
• Attributes such as dependability, integrity, sound judgment, problem-solving, and teamwork
• Physical fitness to meet job demands
