Job description
Role Overview
This position involves managing daily housekeeping operations by generating sold room reports, verifying room conditions, identifying discrepancies, prioritizing room cleaning schedules, and updating the status of guest rooms ready for departure. The role supports the housekeeping management team and acts as a communication link between Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry departments to resolve room-related issues.
Key Duties
- Run sold room reports and confirm room statuses.
- Identify and handle discrepant rooms in collaboration with the Front Desk team.
- Set priorities for cleaning schedules, including rush rooms and rooms previously marked as ‘Do Not Disturb’.
- Prepare and issue room assignments to housekeeping staff.
- Maintain and monitor the list of ‘Do Not Disturb’ rooms.
- Ensure timely cleaning of vacant dirty rooms.
- Complete and manage all housekeeping-related paperwork.
Compliance and Conduct
- Adhere to all company safety, security policies, and procedures.
- Report any maintenance issues, safety risks, accidents, or injuries promptly.
- Complete all required safety training and certifications.
- Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality of company information.
- Uphold high quality standards and strive to meet guest service expectations.
Guest Interaction and Teamwork
- Welcome guests in line with company standards, anticipate their needs, and express genuine appreciation.
- Foster positive working relationships and support team objectives.
- Communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing.
Physical and Operational Responsibilities
- Use computers to enter and retrieve work-related information accurately.
- Be prepared to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
- Ability to move objects weighing up to 10 pounds without help.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Minimum of one year of relevant work experience in housekeeping or related fields.
- No supervisory experience required.
- No licenses or certifications mandated.
