Cook

Position Summary

As a Cook at St. Regis Hotels & Resorts in Dubai, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients including portioning, chopping, and storing various foods, washing and peeling fresh produce, and accurately weighing and mixing ingredients. You will prepare and cook dishes following specific recipes, ensuring food meets quality and presentation standards. Your duties include preparing cold dishes, operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, and fryers, testing food for doneness, monitoring food quality, and appropriately serving portions.

Workstation and Hygiene

You will be required to set up and dismantle your workstation, thoroughly clean and sanitize kitchen areas, utensils, equipment, and ensure appliances and foods are at correct temperatures for safety. Maintaining cleanliness and a professional personal appearance is essential.

Safety and Teamwork

You must adhere to all organizational safety and security protocols, reporting any maintenance, accidents, or unsafe conditions, and completing necessary safety training. Effective, clear professional communication and developing positive working relationships within the team are vital. Supporting team objectives and responding appropriately to colleagues' concerns are part of your responsibilities.

Physical Requirements

The role requires standing, sitting, or walking for prolonged periods, performing movements such as bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, and lifting or moving objects up to 25 pounds without help.

Additional Job Duties

You may be asked to perform other reasonable tasks as directed by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent General Education Development (G.E.D.) certificate.
• Minimum of one year of relevant cooking or food preparation experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No licenses or certifications necessary.
