Overview

Join Summerset Milldale as a Cook and contribute significantly to our upcoming vibrant retirement community in Auckland. This role involves preparing fresh, healthy meals that enhance the daily living experience of our residents. You'll work in a modern kitchen setting, playing an integral role in meal creation that supports nutrition and wellbeing.

Primary Duties

  • Prepare and cook meals for the care centre and short order dishes for the café in accordance with set menus and specific dietary requirements.
  • Keep the kitchen in compliance with Summerset’s Food Control Plan, ensuring it is always ready for audits.
  • Collaborate closely with kitchen colleagues, care teams, and management to deliver outstanding dining services.
  • Work assigned shifts according to the roster, including one weekend day weekly with some scheduling flexibility.

Positions and Schedule

  • Full-time: Sunday to Thursday, 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM.
  • Part-time: Friday and Saturday, 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM.

Start Date and Training

The roles commence on 21st September, beginning with approximately two and a half weeks of comprehensive full-time training and support. Interviews are scheduled for the end of August.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience as a Cook, with preference for backgrounds in healthcare or residential care environments.
  • Strong understanding and practice of food safety standards; certification in safe food handling is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform efficiently in a dynamic setting while upholding excellent quality standards.
  • Availability to work shifts including weekends and public holidays.
