Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a Contract Consultant to be based onsite at a bustling manufacturing and production facility in Preston. This role focuses on operational workforce planning rather than recruitment, ensuring optimal deployment of temporary associates across critical production departments. The position demands close collaboration with operational managers and quick decision-making to meet dynamic production demands.
Working Schedule
- Monday to Friday onsite
- Two days from 6:45 AM to 4:15 PM
- Two days from 6:45 AM to 2:45 PM
- Fridays from 6:45 AM to 2:15 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily deployment of temporary staff in production areas.
- Develop and update workforce plans aligning with production needs.
- Collaborate with managers to gauge labor requirements and address operational challenges.
- Maintain precise workforce data and system records.
- Serve as the initial contact for associate inquiries and provide support.
- Conduct meetings addressing welfare, employee relations, and absenteeism.
- Manage attendance, punctuality, and performance issues.
- Support employee engagement and retention efforts.
- Handle holiday requests while ensuring workforce coverage.
- Administer weekly payroll processing and resolve pay-related questions.
- Maintain attendance logs and manage reporting requirements.
- Respond to shared mailbox queries.
- Generate reports and operational updates as requested.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in workforce management, HR administration, employee relations, or related operational support roles.
- Strong organizational and planning capabilities.
- Comfortable managing employee relations and absence discussions.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to make prompt decisions in a fast-moving environment.
- Proficient in administration and accurate data handling.
- Competent in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook, with advanced Excel skills critical due to reliance on live operational tracking tools.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing operational demands.
