Job Role and Purpose

As a Mechanical Commissioning Inspector at AESG, you will be part of a multidisciplinary project team tasked with conducting site inspections and verifying the accuracy of testing results. The role entails developing a thorough understanding of commissioning procedures and engineering test methods, coupled with an eagerness to learn and advance in the field.

Responsibilities

• Support senior staff in executing commissioning activities.
• Gain deeper insight into your selected engineering discipline and the integration of building systems.
• Carry out site inspections focused on your discipline.
• Evaluate if testing procedures and results comply with project specifications and industry standards.
• Help review project documentation for adherence to relevant codes and specifications.
• Report findings precisely and clearly to senior team members.
• Maintain professional communication with contractors and commissioning teams.
• Conduct site observations related to installation quality.
• Oversee installation activities, submittals, and the application of engineering tools in line with project and commissioning protocols.
• Assist in tracking task completion and preparing project lookahead documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree or equivalent in MEP/Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Building Services Engineering (BSc, HNC, HND, ONC, OND, or related College Diplomas and Certificates).
• Alternatively, MEP trade qualification with time-served experience plus City & Guilds Certificate.
• Minimum experience varies by qualification: 2 years with a degree, 3 years with a college diploma, or 4 years with a college or trade certificate.

Preferred Industry Accreditations

• Incorporated Engineer status is desirable but not essential.
• CSA Grade 3 certification is preferred but not mandatory.
• Commissioning certifications such as BCA, ACG, or NEBB are advantageous but not required.

General Expectations

• Moderate experience and competency across multiple areas.
• Able to perform tasks under supervision effectively.
