Overview

This role involves the preparation of ingredients and food items following established recipes and quality standards. Responsibilities include chopping, portioning, cooking, and serving various foods, as well as maintaining cleanliness and safety in the kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, peeling, washing, measuring, and mixing as required.
• Cook food items following recipes and presentation standards using ovens, grills, stoves, microwaves, and fryers.
• Test food for proper cooking and monitor quality throughout preparation.
• Set up and dismantle workstation efficiently.
• Serve food in appropriate portions and receptacles with attention to detail.
• Maintain hygiene by cleaning kitchen areas, utensils, tools, and equipment; ensure the temperature of appliances and food is correct.
• Report maintenance needs, safety concerns, and accidents promptly to management.
• Comply with company safety, security, and uniform policies; uphold confidentiality and protect company assets.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with team members; support team goals and respond to colleagues’ concerns appropriately.
• Perform physically demanding tasks including standing, sitting, walking for long periods, bending, lifting up to 25 pounds without assistance, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• A minimum of one year of relevant work experience in a culinary or food preparation role.
• No supervisory experience is necessary.
• No specific licenses or certifications are required.
