Role Overview

The Commercial Estimator will be an integral member of our growing commercial team in Melbourne, focusing on delivering precise, commercially viable, and risk-aligned pricing proposals for a diverse range of facilities management, Hard FM, and maintenance contracts. This role demands close coordination with operational teams, finance, business development, and contract executives to create pricing models, cost forecasts, and commercial bids that maximize tender success while ensuring profitability and compliance.

Key Duties

• Construct reliable pricing frameworks and cost evaluations for facilities management, maintenance, and technical service contracts.
• Interpret scopes of work, asset data, labor needs, material expenses, and subcontractor quotes efficiently.
• Develop commercially viable submissions balancing profitability, risk exposure, and competitiveness in the market.
• Engage with stakeholders from operations, technical teams, procurement, and finance to consolidate pricing inputs.
• Generate financial models, prepare commercial documents, and craft presentations for executive approvals.
• Manage tender and bid stages from initial pricing through successful submission.
• Evaluate commercial risks, contract clauses, assumptions, and exclusions thoroughly.
• Track project milestones and bid deadlines to guarantee punctual submission delivery.
• Assist in the contract transition and post-award execution initiatives.
• Drive enhancements and standardization in estimating approaches and pricing structures.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is commercially savvy, possesses robust analytical capabilities, and excels in cross-functional collaboration.

• Demonstrated experience as a Commercial Estimator, Facilities Management Estimator, Commercial Analyst, or related role.
• Proven expertise in creating pricing strategies for maintenance, facilities management, construction, infrastructure, or technical service contracts.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel accompanied by strong financial modeling skills.
• Strong written and oral communication competencies.
• Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to present pricing strategies and commercial results to senior decision-makers.
• Exceptional attention to commercial details and keen business sense.
• Capability to juggle multiple priorities and meet stringent deadlines.
• Highly organized with excellent problem-solving aptitude.

Preferred Qualifications

• Possession of trade qualifications or technical background in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Plumbing, Building, or Facilities Management sectors.
• Prior experience within Facilities Management, Hard FM, Infrastructure, or Maintenance Services sectors.
• Familiarity with KPI, SLA, and abatement pricing models.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and commercial reporting tools.
• Experience in contract transition and project mobilization.
