Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a strategic Commercial Director to spearhead business development, tendering processes, and commercial strategies across multiple significant construction and landscaping projects in Riyadh.
Key Duties
- Identify, assess, and pursue new project opportunities to drive business expansion.
- Establish and nurture relationships with clients, consultants, government agencies, and industry stakeholders.
- Perform market research to anticipate trends and pinpoint competitive benefits.
- Formulate sales pipelines, business development plans, and revenue forecasts.
- Manage tender preparation, evaluation, and submission for construction and landscape projects.
- Direct tender strategies including pricing, value engineering, and risk evaluation.
- Collaborate with engineering, planning, procurement, and finance teams to produce precise and competitive proposals.
- Create commercial policies, frameworks, and systems that promote sustained growth and profitability.
- Lead contractual negotiations including Letters of Intent, final agreements, and commercial terms.
- Monitor and manage commercial risks and opportunities across various projects and business units.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to teams responsible for business development, tendering, contracts, and commercial operations.
- Enhance internal capabilities via training, development, and establishing clear KPIs.
- Ensure commercial strategies are well aligned with operational execution.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related disciplines; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Extensive experience in senior commercial roles within the construction or infrastructure sectors.
- Demonstrable success in business development, tendering, and winning high-value contracts.
- In-depth knowledge of pricing, estimation, contracts, and market environments.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and client relationship skills.
- Strategic leadership capabilities with experience managing cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with FIDIC or comparable contractual standards.
- Professional certifications such as MRICS, RICS, or an MBA will be advantageous.
