Senior Litigation Counsel

Role Overview

The Senior Litigation Counsel is entrusted with the comprehensive management of litigation and dispute resolution activities across our worldwide operations. This role demands an experienced legal expert with profound litigation knowledge, sound commercial insight, and proven competence in handling legal matters spanning multiple jurisdictions. The position involves close collaboration with senior leadership, outside counsel, and diverse internal teams to effectively mitigate risks and safeguard the company's interests.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee litigation and dispute resolution initiatives across various jurisdictions, addressing civil, commercial, regulatory, and employment-related cases.
• Serve as the primary liaison with external legal counsel to ensure strategic, timely, and cost-efficient management of litigation matters.
• Provide counsel to executive management and board members regarding litigation tactics, legal risks, and case progression.
• Manage pre-litigation activities, including dispute resolution, negotiation, settlement, and mediation efforts.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams such as legal, compliance, HR, and finance to compile necessary documentation and prepare for legal procedures.
• Continuously evaluate and monitor possible legal risks stemming from business operations, contracts, or regulatory concerns.
• Maintain comprehensive litigation tracking systems and report key case developments to senior stakeholders.
• Align litigation strategies with the organization’s broader business and regulatory goals.
• Create and implement internal policies and training programs aimed at minimizing litigation risks.

Qualifications & Experience

• Qualified solicitor or barrister in the UK or holding an equivalent international legal qualification.
• Over ten years of post-qualification experience with a specialization in litigation and dispute resolution.
• Background in-house within multinational corporations, ideally in telecommunications, technology, or regulated sectors.
• Proven expertise managing sophisticated, multi-jurisdictional litigation and regulatory disputes.
• Superior skills in negotiation, drafting legal documents, and communication.
• Capacity to perform successfully in a fast-moving, high-pressure environment while handling multiple concurrent matters.
• Strong commercial awareness to effectively balance legal considerations with business priorities.
