Commercial Analyst

Role Overview

We are seeking a commercially focused Commercial Analyst to oversee Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) activities across Australia and New Zealand, collaborating closely with senior finance leaders. Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product, and operational teams to deliver commercial insights, performance analyses, and actionable recommendations that drive growth and enhance profitability.
• Manage monthly management reporting, develop dashboards, analyze KPIs, and provide financial modeling to assist senior leadership in making informed decisions.
• Lead the yearly budgeting process and maintain monthly rolling forecasts to ensure precise financial planning that aligns with business results and market movements.
• Conduct financial analyses and modeling to support pricing strategies, business cases, investment choices, procurement efforts, and other strategic projects.
• Evaluate operating expenses, margins, and profitability to spot risks and opportunities, partnering with budget owners to elevate financial outcomes.
• Ensure robust financial governance by maintaining strong controls, compliance, supporting audits, managing ERP-related activities, mitigating risks, and continuously improving processes.

Candidate Profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) qualified with experience in FP&A, commercial finance, or management accounting.
• Experience from Big 4 Audit or Business Services firms with a transition into commercial finance is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Proficient in advanced Excel functions coupled with strong analytical capabilities to interpret financial data and communicate clear, actionable insights.
• Possesses strong commercial judgment, excellent communication skills, and a proactive mindset for continuous learning and stakeholder engagement.
• Familiarity with financial systems such as SAP, Excel, Sage, or MYOB is highly desirable.
