About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Property Accountant to join our growing team focused on mixed-use real estate in Edmonton, Alberta. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial reporting across a portfolio of properties, playing a pivotal role in enhancing and establishing robust financial procedures for a growing business.
Responsibilities
- Manage the accounting operations and financial reporting for multiple property assets within the portfolio.
- Lead the development and implementation of accounting processes tailored to the needs of a growing property management organization.
- Create and maintain budgets at the property or portfolio level to ensure financial targets are met.
- Ensure accurate preparation of property-level financial statements, reconciliations, and both month-end and year-end closing activities.
Requirements
- A minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within commercial property or real estate accounting.
- Proven expertise in managing mixed-use property portfolios.
- Demonstrated ability to design and enforce efficient accounting processes and controls.
- Strong familiarity with full-cycle accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Experience in budget creation and financial management at either the property or portfolio level.
- Strong analytical skills with a knack for developing organizational structure and financial systems.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary up to $110,000 annually.
