Collections Officer (Remote, Canada)

About the Role

We are searching for a skilled Collections Officer to manage overdue account follow-ups and liaise with customers based in the United States. The ideal candidate must approach debt recovery persistently and assertively while maintaining professionalism and effective communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Initiate outbound phone calls and send emails to pursue outstanding payments.
• Handle objections and payment delays from customers with professionalism.
• Maintain consistent follow-up on all payment promises.
• Keep accurate records of communications and planned next actions.
• Achieve daily and weekly targets related to collections and key performance indicators.

Requirements

• Documented experience in collections is mandatory.
• Experience specifically with US customer accounts is highly preferred.
• Fluent spoken and written English communication skills.
• Able to conduct a high volume of outbound calls.
• Communicates in a clear, direct, and concise manner.
• Exhibits firmness, persistence, and professionalism in approach.
• Strong ability to ensure follow-through and take accountability.
• Comfortable working with targets and performance-based metrics.
