Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled CNC Programmer to join our Campsie facility in Derry/Londonderry. You will be tasked with converting engineering designs into precise and efficient CNC programs that enhance quality, productivity, and continuous improvement within manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, create, and refine CNC programs for robotic plasma, press brake, and bending machinery.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturing instructions to produce accurate machining directives.
  • Partner with Engineering and Production teams to enhance tooling, materials nesting, and manufacturing workflows.
  • Carry out tooling and material setups for CNC machines.
  • Run simulations and program validations to reduce errors and optimize machine performance.
  • Offer technical support and troubleshoot alongside operators and production staff.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives targeting productivity, quality, and efficiency gains.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and quality regulations.
  • Contribute to lean manufacturing efforts and best practice implementations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CNC Programmer within a manufacturing setting.
  • Comprehensive understanding of machining techniques, tooling, and cutting technologies.
  • Experience programming CNC equipment including press brakes, laser cutting machines, and multi-axis CNC machinery.
  • Strong skills in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specs.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a cross-disciplinary manufacturing team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CNC punch machines.
  • Familiarity with TRUMPF and/or Voortman machinery.
  • Knowledge in sheet metal fabrication, tooling choices, and material handling.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related fields.
  • Level 3 NVQ in Mechanical Engineering or comparable credential.
