Role Overview
The Machine Shop at Rocket Lab manages advanced manufacturing equipment across worldwide facilities to produce satellites, their components, and rocket parts. As a CNC Operator, you will engage with parts from design stages through to manufacturing, collaborating closely with engineers and utilizing sophisticated CNC machines to craft our hardware.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate parts used in rockets and satellites.
- Perform all machine setup tasks including changing vices and chucks.
- Configure work coordinate systems, set tools, load machines, and take precise measurements.
- Monitor cutting parameters continuously and make adjustments during processing.
- Inspect completed components for quality assurance.
- Conduct maintenance on CNC equipment as needed to support production efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a minimum of three years’ relevant experience in industry.
Preferred Skills
- High craftsmanship standards.
- Familiarity with Fanuc, Siemens, and Mitsubishi CNC controls.
- Experience using CAD design software.
- Strong attention to detail and meticulous record keeping.
- Ability to work autonomously and meet strict deadlines.
- Commitment to following standardized operational procedures.
