CNC Milling Machinist

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled CNC Milling Machinist for a specialist engineering and manufacturing company that produces precision components for a variety of sectors. The successful applicant will primarily operate CNC milling machines with expert care and precision.

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly wage between £17 and £19.50, based on experience
• Overtime compensated at 1.5 times the standard rate
• Annual leave of 20 days plus bank holidays, with increases based on length of service
• Standard workweek is Monday through Friday, totaling 40 hours with flexible timing options

Key Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and control CNC milling equipment with precision
• Operate manual milling machinery as necessary
• Use precision measuring tools to assess component quality
• Interpret technical schematics and drawings accurately
• Apply mathematical skills to perform measurements and calculations
• Proactively identify and resolve operational issues
• Suggest enhancements to improve workflow efficiency and product quality

Candidate Requirements

• A minimum of five years’ practical experience with CNC milling machines, Hurco machine experience preferred
• Competency in manual milling operations
• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong focus on maintaining quality standards
• Ability to comprehend and utilize technical drawings effectively
• Advanced numerical and problem-solving capabilities
• Self-driven, dependable, and capable of independent work
• Experience with CNC or manual lathe machines is a plus
