About the Role
We are seeking a Proposals Engineer to join a prominent engineering fabrication company located in Scunthorpe. This permanent, full-time position involves a diverse set of duties including managing proposals, coordinating internal communications, supporting procurement activities, and aiding workshop operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Craft quotations and proposals utilizing MS Office tools and SAP software.
- Complete and oversee estimate costing sheets alongside securing the necessary approvals.
- Track and report progress on workshop tasks, site assignments, and spare part orders.
- Create project timelines and maintain communication with clients regarding updates.
- Update and manage enquiry registers and customer relationship management databases.
- Handle customer orders and prepare detailed electronic work packets.
- Offer daily support to manufacturing and technical teams within the workshop.
- Negotiate and secure competitive pricing from suppliers.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven background in a fabrication workshop setting.
- Understanding of commercial aspects and experience in drafting proposals, whether in a dedicated role or as part of broader responsibilities.
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a dynamic and fast-paced workplace.
- Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities.
- General computer proficiency.
