About the Role
Join eShepherd in revolutionising livestock farming with cutting-edge virtual fencing technology. Our innovative platform integrates solar-powered neckbands, mobile apps, and cloud software to enable fencing-free livestock management. With a global footprint including Australia, New Zealand, and North America, we are expanding rapidly and seek a CloudOps Engineer to enhance the backbone of this transformative IoT system.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and fine-tune AWS cloud infrastructure to meet evolving demands.
- Boost platform reliability, efficiency, and scalability for sustained growth.
- Create and maintain Infrastructure as Code, automation workflows, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Advance methods for monitoring, observability, and incident handling.
- Support multi-region cloud deployments and global architecture considerations.
- Optimize database performance and streamline operational processes.
- Proactively troubleshoot complex performance issues prior to customer impact.
- Collaborate closely with software development teams to deliver secure and scalable platforms.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for candidates passionate about solving intricate technical problems and gaining deep system insights. Preferred skills include:
- Proven experience with operating and scaling production AWS environments.
- Strong proficiency in DevOps and cloud engineering disciplines.
- Familiarity with container platforms such as ECS or EKS.
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform.
- Experience with CI/CD processes and automation tools.
- Competence in monitoring systems, alerting frameworks, and incident response strategies.
- Skills in database performance tuning and optimization.
- Programming or scripting experience in Python, Node.js, or related languages.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
Additional advantageous expertise:
- Knowledge of IoT platforms and connected device ecosystems.
- Experience with MQTT, LTE-M, NB-IoT, or LoRa communication technologies.
- Familiarity with Grafana, Prometheus, or similar monitoring tools.
- Handling multi-region cloud infrastructures.
- Understanding of DevSecOps principles.
- Working with high-volume telemetry or time-series data.
