Cloud Platform Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer (f/m/d) to join an innovative early-stage startup specializing in intelligent AI workflow automation solutions, described as "Zapier meets Palantir" for mid-market business operations. The role involves complete ownership of designing, building, and managing the Azure cloud infrastructure that powers their advanced AI platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and maintain Azure cloud environments hosting the core AI platform.
• Design and manage high-scale Docker and Kubernetes container orchestration systems to run live applications.
• Create, implement, and optimize automated CI/CD pipelines to enable smooth software delivery.
• Drive automation initiatives through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Bicep.
• Collaborate closely with software and machine learning teams to integrate and scale complex AI workloads.
• Set and uphold rigorous standards for cloud security, network configuration, system monitoring, and platform stability.
• Ensure high availability, cost-effectiveness, and excellent performance of live systems to meet evolving business needs.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 3 years practical experience as a DevOps, Cloud, Platform, or Site Reliability Engineer.
• Extensive hands-on experience managing production systems on Microsoft Azure, including architecture design, networking, IAM, and security implementations.
• Proven proficiency with Infrastructure as Code methodologies, particularly Terraform or Bicep in production environments.
• Strong knowledge of containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Experience in building and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
• Solid understanding of Linux operating systems, scripting, security best practices, and infrastructure monitoring.
• Track record of developing cost-efficient, reliable, and scalable production infrastructures.
• Excellent analytical skills, strong sense of responsibility, and fluent English communication suited to a dynamic startup setting.
