Cloud Architect for Enterprise Cloud in Aviation Sector

Overview

Within the Transport & Logistics division of CGI Germany, we are seeking additional team members to join our Cloud Architecture unit. This team provides expert guidance to our aviation sector client, supporting the design and ongoing enhancement of their Enterprise Cloud based on Microsoft Azure. Responsibilities also include devising migration strategies for applications and implementing new or updated services to maintain a close connection to technology.

Primary Responsibilities

• Advise and assist the client in migrating their IT landscape to modern cloud-based operational models for their applications.
• Design and develop new services and architectures to broaden the client's Enterprise Cloud service catalog and fulfill application requirements.
• Create target architectures for applications planned for migration into the client's Enterprise Cloud.
• Continuously update knowledge on technologies and trends to apply insights in client projects.
• Guide the client on various aspects of their group-wide cloud strategy.
• Develop and analyze solution concepts and architectures tailored to the client’s Enterprise Cloud.
• Evaluate existing applications and produce cloud-native target architectures and migration plans.
• Plan and oversee the implementation of these solution concepts and application migrations.
• Collaborate with the global Delivery Center for Cloud Operations.

Required Qualifications

• Several years of experience with at least one major hyperscale cloud platform such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong interest in working with Microsoft Azure.
• Expertise in networking, security, automation, and Infrastructure as Code technologies (e.g., Terraform, PowerShell, ARM templates).
• Proven skill in defining architectures based on cloud platforms.
• Ability to quickly grasp new topics and eagerness to learn continuously.
• Fluent communication skills in both German and English, written and spoken.

Preferred Additional Skills

• Cloud platform certifications from a hyperscaler provider.
• Experience with containerization and microservices architectures.
