Job description
Position Overview
The Cleanup Planer role involves engaging in various tasks within the sawmill environment, including sorting, stacking, and piling lumber. The candidate will be responsible for handling materials, operating production equipment when assigned, and providing support to fellow processing workers.
Key Duties
- Sort, stack, and pile lumber in multiple areas.
- Handle and lift materials as required.
- Operate assigned production machinery.
- Assist other processing personnel with their duties.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on sawmill equipment, promptly reporting any malfunctions or problems to the team.
- Carry out general labor tasks as needed.
- Complete repetitive tasks efficiently.
- Adhere strictly to company safety standards and practices, including procedures like Lock-out and Pre-task hazard assessments.
- Be able to stand for extended durations during work shifts.
Candidate Qualifications
- Capable of working within an industrial manufacturing setting.
- Willing and able to work both day and night shifts as needed.
- Physically fit to perform demanding tasks.
- Comfortable with repetitive work activities.
- A positive team player attitude.
- Strong dedication to safety protocols, including consistent use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a safe workplace.
- Reliable with a strong work ethic.
- Motivated to learn, develop skills, and achieve success.
- No previous experience necessary.
