Civil Foreman

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Civil Foreman to oversee and coordinate civil construction activities for a site located on Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi. This full-time role requires a candidate with 4 to 8 years of experience in civil and MEP works, ideally with a background in contracting companies. The successful candidate will supervise site operations, manage workers and subcontractors, and ensure projects are completed safely, punctually, and in alignment with approved designs and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily civil construction tasks including excavation, concrete, blockwork, plastering, tiling, finishing, drainage, and associated MEP coordination.
• Assign daily tasks to laborers, technicians, and subcontractors while tracking productivity.
• Ensure project execution aligns with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and quality benchmarks.
• Collaborate with site engineers, MEP teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to prevent delays and avoid rework.
• Track materials, manpower, equipment needs, and promptly report any shortages.
• Inspect finished work to guarantee quality and safety compliance.
• Maintain site cleanliness and enforce safe practices among all personnel.
• Provide daily updates on work progress, manpower availability, and material requirements to site/project engineers.
• Assist with resolving civil and MEP coordination challenges on site.
• Ensure consistent use of PPE and adherence to company HSE policies and safety protocols.
• Facilitate project handover by ensuring all pending tasks and snags are addressed.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• A minimum of 4 to 8 years' experience in civil construction with added exposure to MEP coordination.
• Preferably from a contracting company background.
• Solid understanding of civil and finishing works, basic MEP coordination, site execution, and safety procedures.
• Ability to interpret civil, shop drawings, and site layouts.
• Strong leadership and manpower management skills.
• Capable of working efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Proficient in English; knowledge of Hindi, Urdu, or Arabic is advantageous.
• Experience working on Abu Dhabi projects or other UAE locations is preferred.

Education & Certifications

• Diploma, ITI, or technical certification in Civil Engineering, Construction, or related disciplines preferred.
• Candidates with substantial practical site experience will also be considered.

Preferred Candidate Attributes

• Background in residential, villa, or building construction projects.
• Practical experience managing site personnel and coordinating civil and MEP subcontractors.
• Familiarity with Abu Dhabi’s site safety norms and construction standards.
• Possession of a valid UAE driving license.
