About the Role
The Head of Group Rewards is responsible for leading the design, governance, and implementation of the organization's compensation, performance management, incentive programs, executive remuneration, job architecture, and related HR policy frameworks across various business units. This role acts as a key advisor to senior management and HR Business Partners to ensure reward and performance systems support business objectives, promote appropriate behaviors, and comply with robust governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and regularly update the Group's compensation philosophy to align with changing business and workforce needs.
- Establish and manage Group-wide pay structures, salary bands, and remuneration policies.
- Perform ongoing market benchmarking to ensure external competitiveness and internal equity.
- Advise senior leadership on labour market trends, pay developments, and their organizational impact.
- Create reward strategies that drive talent acquisition, retention, and transformation initiatives.
- Administer and oversee Group-wide performance appraisal, calibration, and pay-for-performance governance.
- Design and refresh remuneration programs for senior leadership, including executive pay and incentive schemes, and recommend policies accordingly.
- Prepare and deliver remuneration proposals to management, board committees, and the Board, ensuring executive pay complies with governance and market standards.
- Lead job evaluation, governance, and grading frameworks to maintain consistency across business units.
- Guide initiatives on job architecture, role sizing, and career progression paths.
- Support organizational design and workforce planning efforts when required.
- Drive digital transformation of rewards and performance processes to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
- Leverage data analytics and AI to improve compensation planning, incentive design, and workforce budgeting.
- Serve as the primary HR and leadership expert in rewards, benefits, international mobility, and related HR practices.
- Manage relationships with external consultants, survey providers, and vendors on rewards initiatives.
- Lead major reward and policy projects from inception through implementation as necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- At least 15 years of progressive experience in HR, specializing in compensation, performance management, incentive design, and policy development.
- Proven ability to prepare and present senior remuneration recommendations to Board-level stakeholders.
- Experience leading group-wide rewards and performance frameworks within complex conglomerates.
- Knowledge of group benefits administration, international mobility programs, and job evaluation/sizing systems.
- Strategic thinker capable of converting talent imperatives into integrated reward solutions.
- Strong commercial insight and organizational understanding.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Aptitude for balancing strategic vision with practical execution.
- Experience managing programs and governance structures effectively.
