Job Overview

We are seeking a commercially savvy Civil Estimator to join our Perth team to support tendering, project pricing, and commercial analyses on a varied portfolio of projects. The role is essential to producing precise, competitive, and well-defined estimates that facilitate project acquisition and company growth. Close collaboration with operational teams and subject matter experts is required to develop cost models, evaluate tenders, and identify cost efficiencies and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Review tender documents, scopes of work, and contract terms thoroughly.
• Analyze project opportunities, risks, and benefits to provide insightful recommendations.
• Maintain accurate pricing databases and update the CRM system (HubSpot) consistently.
• Create, improve, and manage cost models specifically for civil projects.
• Generate detailed cost estimates covering earthworks, drainage, and civil infrastructure components.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and geotechnical reports.
• Conduct site visits and attend tender-related meetings to assess project scope and conditions.
• Work with operational teams to verify cost assumptions and project details.
• Assist with re-pricing, variations, and initiatives aimed at cost reduction for ongoing projects.
• Monitor estimate accuracy by comparing against actual project costs to enhance modeling techniques.
• Promote consistent and reliable estimating approaches across the organisation.

Candidate Profile

• Detail-oriented, proactive professional who excels in a dynamic, team-driven setting.
• Experienced in interpreting civil drawings and technical documents with precision.
• Possesses excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Effective communicator skilled in engaging multiple stakeholders.
• Highly organised with strong time management skills.
• Commercially astute with sound judgment in pricing and costing.
• Minimum of 3 years experience estimating within civil, mining, or haulage industries.
• Demonstrated expertise in civil construction, cost estimation, or quantity surveying roles.
• Proficient in estimating software and possesses advanced Excel abilities.
• Experience creating and updating detailed cost models.
• Familiarity with tendering processes and pricing strategies is essential.

Qualifications (Preferred)

• Qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying.
• Certificate IV in Civil Construction or Building Project Support (Estimator).
