Civil Estimator

Overview

Our client is seeking a skilled Civil Estimator to join their construction team in Dubai. This role involves preparing detailed and accurate cost assessments for various civil engineering projects such as infrastructure, site development, earthworks, roads, and utility installations.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to create precise cost estimates.
• Calculate quantities and estimate costs for labor, materials, machinery, and subcontracted work.
• Obtain and assess quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and related parties to ensure cost estimates align with project objectives and constraints.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits to evaluate project scope and conditions.
• Organize and maintain all drawing files and project documents according to company standards.
• Assist with tender submissions, bid documentation, and project proposal preparations.
• Track cost trends and provide insights to aid budgeting and forecasting efforts.
• Contribute to value engineering and strategies aimed at cost savings.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in civil estimating or comparable construction roles.
• In-depth knowledge of civil construction techniques, materials, and regulatory codes.
• Proficient with estimating software such as Bluebeam, HeavyBid, PlanSwift, AutoCAD, or equivalent tools.
• Strong skills in mathematics, analysis, and organization.
• Ability to accurately read and interpret technical plans and specifications.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Capable of working autonomously as well as part of a team within a dynamic work environment.
• Experience handling projects in both public and private sectors.
• Familiarity with local construction regulations and permit procedures.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
