About the Role
Orient House for Development & Construction LLC seeks an experienced Estimator Engineer to join their construction team based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing thorough quantity take-offs, cost estimations, and tender preparations for construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine tender documents, architectural drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) attentively.
- Develop precise quantity take-offs and detailed cost estimations.
- Conduct rate analysis covering materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
- Solicit, assess, and analyze supplier and subcontractor quotations effectively.
- Compile tender pricing, cost breakdowns, and commercial comparisons accurately.
- Recognize and report project risks, assumptions, exclusions, and their cost implications.
- Collaborate closely with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal project teams including engineering and procurement.
- Ensure all tenders are submitted on time with accuracy.
- Keep databases updated for material, labor, and subcontractor rates.
Candidate Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least five years of professional experience in construction estimation and tendering.
- Prior experience within the UAE construction market is highly preferred.
- Working knowledge with main contractors is advantageous.
- Strong familiarity with BOQs, drawings, technical specifications, and modern construction methodologies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office suite.
- Competence in performing quantity take-offs and detailed cost rate analyses.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and estimation-related software tools adds value.
- Excellent analytical thinking, communication, negotiation, and time management abilities.
- Capability to handle pressure and meet critical tender submission deadlines.
