Job description
Role Overview
The Chef de Partie in the Pastry section is responsible for efficiently preparing and cooking dishes according to established recipes and procedures. This position supports the Sous Chef by helping train team members and contributes to product innovation while ensuring smooth kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently prepare food in an economical and hygienic manner following standard recipes and plating instructions.
- Assist the Sous Chef with daily kitchen activities, upholding high standards in food preparation and presentation.
- Strictly follow hygiene practices and cleaning protocols maintaining compliance with HACCP regulations.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and participate in culinary events held off-site.
- Undertake tasks beyond the kitchen, including inventory checks, and cooperate with the Stewarding team for cleanliness and loss prevention.
- Respond promptly to guest requests maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
- Abide by the hotel's rules and team member guidelines to foster a positive working environment.
- Lead and engage in kitchen production activities focusing on quality assurance and portion control.
- Monitor and adjust food quality as needed and execute any other assigned tasks.
Qualifications and Experience
- Completion of high school education or an equivalent qualification in Culinary Arts.
- Minimum of 2 years working experience in a 5-star hotel or equivalent high-standard restaurant.
- At least 1 year experience serving as a Demi Chef or similar role within an international hotel brand.
- Possession of a valid Food Hygiene certificate.
- Knowledgeable in HACCP food safety standards.
- Good command of English is desirable for effective communication.
