About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Chef de Partie to join the Food & Beverage team at the premier Vignette Collection located in Dammam, Saudi Arabia (Carlton Al Moaibed Hotel). This role entails managing a designated kitchen section, ensuring the preparation of high-caliber dishes, upholding food safety protocols, and fostering smooth kitchen operations each day.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute cooking and preparation of dishes adhering to recipe instructions, quality benchmarks, and presentation guidelines.
- Take charge of a specific kitchen area such as hot kitchen, cold kitchen, pastry, or grill.
- Deliver timely completion of food preparation meeting required standards.
- Uphold superior food quality, flavor, appearance, and portion control consistently.
- Inspect ingredients for freshness and quality before use.
- Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and workplace health standards at all times.
- Manage correct storage, labeling, and handling of food items.
- Track inventory levels and alert senior chefs when supplies need replenishment.
- Reduce food wastage through careful portion management.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of workstation, equipment, and kitchen spaces continually.
- Assist Sous Chef and Executive Chef in daily kitchen responsibilities.
- Collaborate effectively with other kitchen stations to ensure seamless and prompt food service.
- Support preparation for menus, special functions, buffets, and hotel events as necessary.
- Provide training and guidance to junior kitchen staff, including Commis Chefs.
- Consistently apply hotel recipes, standards, and procedures to guarantee dish uniformity.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and proper uniform presentation at all times.
- Carry out additional tasks assigned by kitchen management.
Candidate Requirements
- Prior experience as a Chef de Partie or in a comparable kitchen role is preferred.
- Experience within hotel, restaurant, or broader hospitality setting is advantageous.
- Solid understanding of food preparation methods, cooking techniques, and kitchen workflow.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
- Capacity to perform effectively in a fast-moving kitchen environment.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on food quality.
- Strong communication and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Capability to handle pressure and multitask during busy service hours.
- Willingness to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Ability to stand and work for extended periods during service times.
- Basic proficiency in English communication is preferred.
- A culinary qualification or equivalent professional training is beneficial.
