Role Overview
Step into an exciting culinary career with us as a Chef de Partie. You will be integral to the kitchen team, preparing and presenting dishes that delight our guests and ensure memorable dining experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chefs to oversee daily kitchen operations.
- Manage your designated kitchen station, ensuring food preparation, presentation, and service meet high standards.
- Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and workplace health & safety protocols at all times.
- Lead and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a productive and professional team environment.
- Effectively assign tasks to meet service requirements timely.
- Oversee menu preparation and ensure sufficient ingredients and supplies are ready for service.
- Continuously assess food quality during preparation and presentation stages.
- Create and serve menu items creatively and consistently while maintaining budgetary constraints.
- Maintain precise stock control through strict rotation and minimizing waste.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of all food items, complying with health and hygiene regulations.
- Keep workspaces, equipment, and your station clean, orderly, and compliant at all times.
- Monitor daily ingredient and product needs and inform senior kitchen leadership proactively.
- Assist with training and development initiatives for junior kitchen team members.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Capability to perform efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong team player who thrives in a cooperative and collective workplace.
- Possession of a Certificate in Cookery or an equivalent qualification.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts across a 7-day roster, covering mornings and evenings.
- Passion for delivering exceptional culinary experiences and attention to quality and presentation.
- Relevant experience in culinary roles.
- Legal eligibility to work in New Zealand.
