Cashier

Position Overview

The Cashier role is essential in delivering fast, friendly, accurate, and safe service to customers. This position involves processing Checkout and Return transactions, managing the Self-Checkout area, and actively acquiring product and project knowledge to assist customers effectively and identify sales possibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Execute checkout and return transactions efficiently and accurately.
• Supervise and maintain the Self-Checkout stations to ensure smooth operation.
• Proactively develop an understanding of products and projects to provide customers with relevant information and promote sales opportunities.
• Adhere strictly to company policies and procedures to minimize inventory shrinkage.
• For Head Cashier roles: coordinate and support Cashiers, including expediting price checks, authorizing point of sale transactions and markdowns across main registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
• Handle initial escalations of customer concerns and contribute to mentoring by training and coaching new and existing Front End Associates.

Qualifications and Experience

• Preferred: Minimum of one year experience working as a Cashier.
