Position Overview
Cashiers are essential in delivering excellent customer service by offering efficient, friendly, accurate, and secure transaction processing. Their responsibilities include managing Checkout and Return transactions and overseeing the Self-Checkout area. Cashiers are encouraged to deepen their product and project knowledge to better assist customers and uncover sales prospects.
Key Duties
- Conduct Checkout and Return operations promptly and accurately.
- Monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout section to ensure smooth functioning.
- Seek and utilize product/project knowledge for effective customer information and sales opportunities.
- Adhere strictly to policies and procedures to minimize loss and prevent shrinkage.
Head Cashier Role
The Head Cashier supports cashier staff by managing register positioning, authorizing price checks, approving Point of Sale transactions and markdowns across mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental departments. They also handle the first level of customer issue escalations and assist in supervising, coaching, and training Front End Associates and new Cashiers, using available tools to develop cashier skills.
Qualifications
The preferred requirement for the Head Cashier position is having over one year of experience as a Cashier.
