Cashier

Overview

Cashiers serve a vital role in delivering quick, courteous, precise, and secure service to customers. They handle checkout and return transactions and oversee the self-checkout area. By actively gaining product and project knowledge, they can inform customers and spot opportunities to promote sales. Adherence to all policies ensures minimal inventory loss.

In a Head Cashier capacity, responsibilities expand to include positioning cashiers, facilitating price verifications, and authorizing point-of-sale transactions and markdowns across mainline registers, self-checkout, returns, Pro Desk, special services, and tool rental.

Responsibilities

• Process purchases and returns efficiently and accurately.
• Monitor and manage the self-checkout stations.
• Acquire product and project information to assist customers and identify opportunities to recommend items.
• Comply with company procedures to reduce shrinkage.
• Support and oversee Cashiers by coordinating their tasks, handling price checks, and approving transactions and discounts.
• Handle initial customer concerns and escalations effectively.
• Assist in supervising, coaching, and training new and existing Front End Associates and Cashiers.

Requirements

• Preferred: Minimum one year of experience as a Cashier.
