Job description
Position Overview
Cashiers serve an essential role in customer service by delivering quick, friendly, precise, and secure transactions. Responsibilities include managing checkout and return operations and overseeing the Self-Checkout section to ensure smooth functioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Process customer checkout and return transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area to prevent issues and support customer use.
- Actively acquire product and project knowledge to assist customers with information and identify opportunities to make sales.
- Adhere strictly to company policies to minimize inventory shrinkage and ensure security.
- For Head Cashiers: allocate shifts and positions for Cashiers, expedite price verifications, authorize Point of Sale transactions and markdowns across various departments including mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
- Provide initial escalation support for customer concerns and complaints.
- Assist in coaching, supervising, and training Front End Associates and new Cashiers using all available tools to foster development.
Qualifications
- Experience as a Cashier is crucial, with preferred candidates having a minimum of one year in this role.
