Cashier

Overview

As a Cashier at The Home Depot in San Marcos, CA, you will be a vital part of delivering exceptional customer service. Your role includes providing customers with prompt, friendly, accurate, and secure checkout and return transactions. You will also oversee the Self-Checkout section to maintain smooth operation.

Responsibilities

• Execute checkout and return procedures efficiently while providing courteous service.
• Monitor and upkeep the Self-Checkout area to ensure seamless customer experience.
• Continuously seek to improve product and project knowledge to offer helpful information and recognize sales opportunities.
• Adhere to all company rules and policies to reduce shrinkage and ensure operational integrity.
• For Head Cashiers: manage and support Cashiers by handling price checks expeditiously, approving transactions and markdowns across multiple departments including mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
• Act as the first point of escalation for customer concerns, assisting in supervisory, coaching, and training roles.
• Participate in onboarding and training of new Cashiers, utilizing available tools to coach and develop team members.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience of at least one year as a Cashier is preferred for the Head Cashier position.
