Position Overview
The Cashier serves as a vital frontline representative responsible for delivering swift, friendly, precise, and secure customer service. Key duties include processing checkout and return transactions, overseeing the Self-Checkout area, and actively enhancing product and project knowledge to guide customers effectively and identify sales prospects.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Efficiently conduct checkout and return transactions with accuracy and care.
- Maintain and supervise the Self-Checkout stations.
- Continuously update knowledge about products and projects to provide informed customer guidance and recognize opportunities for sales.
- Comply with company policies and procedures aimed at reducing inventory loss.
Head Cashier Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support other Cashiers by prioritizing price checks and authorizing point-of-sale transactions and markdowns across various service points, including mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
- Act as the first point of escalation to resolve customer issues.
- Assist in the supervision, coaching, and training of Front End Associates and new Cashiers, leveraging all available resources for skill development.
Preferred Qualifications
A minimum of one year of experience working as a Cashier is preferred for the Head Cashier role.
