Job description
Position Overview
The Cashier plays a vital role in delivering excellent customer service by ensuring transactions are handled swiftly, accurately, and safely. The role involves managing Checkout and Return processes along with overseeing the Self-Checkout stations. Cashiers actively gain knowledge about products and projects to assist customers effectively and to spot opportunities for sales.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Execute customer transactions including purchases and returns accurately and safely.
- Maintain and supervise the Self-Checkout area to ensure smooth operation.
- Continuously enhance product and project knowledge to provide informed assistance and identify potential sales opportunities to customers.
- Adhere strictly to company policies to reduce inventory shrinkage.
- For Head Cashiers: Assign Cashier positions, expedite price checks, authorize point-of-sale transactions, mark-downs, and returns across mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental departments.
- Provide first-level support for customer issues and complaints.
- Assist in coaching and training other Front End Associates and play a role in onboarding new Cashiers.
Qualifications and Experience
- Preferred candidates for the Head Cashier role have over one year of Cashier experience.

This position requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment. Compliance with all store policies and procedures is essential to ensure operational efficiency and loss prevention.
