Cashier

Overview

Cashiers hold a vital role in delivering excellent customer service by offering quick, friendly, precise, and secure assistance during purchases and returns. They are also responsible for supervising the Self-Checkout zone. These employees actively expand their knowledge of products and projects to better assist customers and uncover additional sales possibilities. Following all guidelines carefully, they work to reduce inventory loss.

Role Duties

• Execute checkout and return transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area to ensure smooth operation.
• Gain and apply product and project knowledge to inform customers and identify sales opportunities.
• Adhere strictly to all policies to minimize shrinkage.

Head Cashier Responsibilities

• Coordinate and position Cashiers effectively.
• Expedite price verifications and authorize Point of Sale transactions and markdowns across multiple service points including mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
• Serve as the primary point for escalating customer concerns.
• Assist with supervising, coaching, and training Front End Associates and new Cashiers, utilizing available tools to support their development.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience of one year or more as a Cashier is desirable.
