Position Overview
The role of a Cashier is vital in delivering swift, courteous, accurate, and secure services to customers. Responsibilities include managing checkout and return transactions and overseeing the Self-Checkout section. Cashiers enhance the shopping experience by gaining product and project knowledge to inform customers and uncover sales opportunities. They must adhere strictly to company policies to reduce losses.
For those in the Head Cashier role, duties extend to managing Cashiers’ positions, expediting price verifications, authorizing Point of Sale transactions and markdowns across various service points including mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental. They handle initial escalation on customer concerns and aid in guiding, mentoring, and training Front End Associates, including new Cashiers, by employing all resource tools available for coaching and development.
