Job description
Role Overview
Cashiers serve as a vital link between customers and the retail environment by delivering prompt, courteous, precise, and secure service. Their key duties include managing transactions at Checkout and Return points, overseeing the Self-Checkout stations, and actively gathering knowledge about products and projects to assist customers and identify potential sales opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions including sales and returns accurately and efficiently.
- Manage and supervise the Self-Checkout areas ensuring smooth functionality and customer assistance.
- Maintain awareness of policies and procedures aimed at minimizing inventory shrinkage.
- When designated as Head Cashier, supervise and support other Cashiers by coordinating price checks, approving sales-related exceptions such as Point of Sale transaction approvals and markdowns across various retail departments including main registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
- Act as the first point of escalation for resolving customer concerns.
- Support the coaching, training, and development of Front End Associates and new Cashiers using company tools and training programs.
Qualifications
- Preferred experience includes at least one year working as a Cashier.
