Position Overview
The Cashier role is vital in delivering excellent customer service by promptly, courteously, and accurately managing sales transactions. Cashiers are responsible for processing purchases and returns, overseeing the Self-Checkout zone, and actively acquiring product knowledge to assist customers and identify upselling opportunities. Following company policies is essential to reduce shrink and ensure smooth operations.
Key Duties
- Handle checkout and return transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area to support customer use.
- Continuously develop product and project knowledge to better inform customers and promote sales.
- Adhere strictly to company policies to minimize shrink and ensure safety.
Head Cashier Responsibilities
- Organize and position Cashiers on duty for effective workflow.
- Assist Cashiers by facilitating price checks and approving sales transactions, markdowns, and returns across multiple service points including mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
- Serve as the first escalation contact for customer concerns at checkout.
- Support the training and coaching of Front End Associates and new Cashiers, employing all available resources for their development.
Preferred Experience
The ideal candidate for the Head Cashier position brings over one year of experience in cashiering roles.
