Job description
Role Overview
The Cashier is vital in delivering excellent customer service by efficiently, accurately, and safely handling checkout and return transactions. The role involves maintaining the Self-Checkout area, engaging proactively with customers to provide product and project details, and identifying potential sales opportunities. Strict adherence to company policies and procedures is required to reduce shrinkage.
Responsibilities
- Process checkout and return transactions quickly and accurately.
- Monitor and manage the Self-Checkout zone for smooth operation.
- Continuously update product and project knowledge to assist customers effectively and promote sales.
- Ensure compliance with policies to minimize loss and shrink.
- As a Head Cashier, allocate cashier tasks and assist with approving special transactions such as price checks, markdowns, and point of sale activities across various service areas including main registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, and Tool Rental.
- Serve as the first level of escalation for customer concerns.
- Support supervisory activities by coaching, training, and developing front-end staff and new cashiers using all available resources.
Qualifications and Experience
- Preferred: Minimum of one year of previous cashier experience.
