Job description

Role Overview

This position involves operating company vehicles to ensure efficient delivery and pickup of packages across a minimum of 15 floating routes rather than a fixed assigned route. The role also requires acting as a mentor to hourly employees, demonstrating exemplary communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills to model best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive company vehicles to cover multiple delivery routes as needed, supporting absences of regular couriers.
  • Serve as a role model and mentor for hourly employees to encourage strong communication and leadership.
  • Promote company sales efforts and seek opportunities to generate additional revenue.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Must hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Capable of successfully completing all required initial and recurrent training, including maintaining Dangerous Goods (DG) certification through annual renewal.
  • Physical ability to lift packages up to 70 lbs and manage heavier packages up to 150 lbs with proper equipment.
  • Solid understanding of company products, services, and general operations.
  • Working knowledge of Canadian Customs rules and Federal Express operations is advantageous.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills coupled with strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and organizational abilities.
  • In Quebec, bilingualism in French and English is mandatory.

Experience Required

At least six months of prior courier experience is necessary for this role.

Additional Information

The position does not involve fixed routes; rather, the employee covers open routes as needed. Dangerous Goods specialist requirement varies depending on station size and management discretion.
