Job description
Role Overview
As a Business Development Representative at BlackLine, you will be instrumental in generating demand for the company's finance automation products and solutions. Your role will involve effectively communicating BlackLine's platform value to prospective clients and significantly influencing the organization's future growth.
Training and Development
Starting with an intensive six-week training program, you will gain foundational knowledge and develop successful sales processes to quickly begin qualifying leads within your assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Qualify leads generated through marketing campaigns, website programs, conferences, and various channels.
- Identify and secure meetings with prospective clients via outbound prospecting targeted at key contacts and organizations.
- Engage with prospects to comprehend their needs thoroughly and align these with BlackLine's solutions.
- Address software capability inquiries during the qualification stage of the sales process.
- Consistently meet or surpass weekly, monthly, and quarterly goals, including appointments set, qualified leads, and new contacts.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to support and coordinate relevant campaigns.
- Maintain accurate prospect data and forecasting through tools such as Salesforce.com and Outreach.
Skills and Growth Opportunities
- Develop expertise in prospecting, cold calling, and articulating the value proposition of a complex finance platform within 90 days.
- Gain familiarity with sales tools including Salesforce.com, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Outreach, Hoopla, ZoomInfo, DiscoverOrg, InsideView, ClearSlide, and Kapost.
- Understand the technical environment and challenges faced by finance and accounting professionals.
- Navigating a territory that offers more than 90% market availability.
- Effectively manage objections in both verbal and written communications.
- Engage with high-level executives including C-suite members of Fortune 500 companies.
- Participate in corporate all-hands meetings at a dynamic public company setting.
- Contribute ideas and help shape new marketing campaigns.

- Fluent in English, both written and spoken, to foster seamless relationships with prospects and partners across the UK and Ireland.
