Job description
Overview
A prominent Australian technology firm is growing its manufacturing software division and seeks a seasoned Business Development Manager to introduce its ERP/MRP products to the market. This role focuses exclusively on generating new business and is ideal for proactive 'hunter' sales professionals.
Responsibilities
- Devise and implement a new-business acquisition strategy targeting the manufacturing sector.
- Proactively seek out and engage new prospects, rather than relying solely on inbound inquiries.
- Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders such as owners, CEOs, CFOs, COOs, and IT executives.
- Conduct in-depth discovery discussions about challenges related to production, inventory, planning, procurement, and operations.
- Oversee complex sales cycles from initial contact through to deal closure.
- Collaborate closely with technical and presales teams to craft customized solutions tailored to client needs.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience selling ERP, MRP, or manufacturing-specific software.
- Proven track record in acquiring new clients through proactive sales ('hunter' mentality).
- Strong background selling to manufacturing companies.
- Familiarity with manufacturing concepts such as production processes, inventory management, planning, procurement, bills of materials (BOMs), work orders, and supply chain dynamics.
- Experience managing end-to-end sales processes.
- Ability to confidently engage with high-level business and operational decision-makers.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary of $150,000 plus superannuation.
- $12,500 car allowance annually.
- Unlimited commission potential.
- Expected total earnings range between $350,000 and $400,000.
Additional Information
This opportunity is well suited for ERP/MRP sales professionals who excel at generating new business, building their sales pipelines, and offering solutions that transform manufacturing operations.
