Role Overview

The Business Development Manager will join the New Zealand sales team, reporting to the Country Sales Manager, tasked with expanding business opportunities and nurturing current client relations to drive continuous growth in freight forwarding services. This full-time, onsite position is based in either Wellington or Napier.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within targeted sectors and regions.
  • Enhance existing customer accounts through cross-selling and providing tailored solutions.
  • Foster strong client relationships and thoroughly understand their supply chain requirements.
  • Participate in preparing RFQs, proposals, and bid responses.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipelines, and customer data in CRM systems.
  • Collaborate with operational and product teams to implement customer-centric solutions.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Between 1 and 2 years of experience in sales, logistics, or customer service roles.
  • Exposure to freight forwarding or the logistics industry is highly advantageous.
  • Proven ability to establish and grow customer relationships and identify market opportunities.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Openness to learning CRM systems and sales techniques.
