Role Overview

PM Group is initiating a growth strategy to expand its footprint in the data centre industry and is searching for a motivated Business Development Director to spearhead this initiative. This role is crucial for accelerating revenue growth, enhancing client relations, and establishing PM Group's trusted reputation in the rapidly evolving data centre sector. The position can be based in any PM Group office across Ireland, the UK, Belgium, Germany, Poland, or the Netherlands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and actively pursue new business opportunities within the data centre market.
  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans aimed at increasing market share and revenue.
  • Establish and nurture robust relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and project teams to design custom solutions tailored to client requirements.
  • Lead commercial activities including bid preparations, tender processes, and contract negotiations.
  • Prepare and present convincing proposals and presentations to potential clients.
  • Conduct detailed market research to track industry trends, competitor behavior, and new technological developments.
  • Represent PM Group at industry conferences, events, and networking sessions to promote the company’s strengths and offerings.

Candidate Profile and Qualifications

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a closely related field.
  • Proven experience in business development within data centres, engineering consultancy, or construction sectors.
  • Possess a strong professional network within the European data centre industry.
  • Sound knowledge of data centre design, construction parameters, and operational considerations.
  • Excellent skills in communication, negotiation, and delivering presentations.
  • Track record of meeting or surpassing sales targets and contributing to business expansion.
  • Self-driven, goal-oriented with the capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Availability and willingness to travel as job demands.
