Job Overview
This role provides valuable support to budgeting and cost-control functions by helping prepare budgets, tracking expenses against approved budgets, compiling reports, and maintaining precise financial records.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the preparation of annual budgets and regular financial forecasts.
- Gather and consolidate budget data from various departments.
- Track actual income and expenditures compared to budgeted amounts.
- Assist in variance analysis to identify and report on significant budget deviations.
- Support the oversight of capital expenditure budgets and related spending.
- Generate regular reports on budget status, cost control, and financial performance.
- Keep accurate budget information and related documentation updated within ERP systems such as Oracle.
- Provide assistance with management reporting and perform ad hoc financial analyses as needed.
- Collaborate with internal teams to follow up on budget-related queries and data.
- Ensure adherence to approved budgets, financial policies, and internal controls.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Between one and two years of experience in budgeting, financial analysis, cost control, accounting, or management reporting.
- Recent graduates with relevant internships or cooperative education experience are eligible.
- Basic knowledge of budgeting processes, expense tracking, capital expenditure (CAPEX), and variance analysis principles.
- Familiarity with Oracle or other ERP software systems is an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for financial data manipulation and presentations.
- Excellent numerical aptitude, analytical thinking, and careful attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Experience in banking, fintech, or retail sectors considered a plus but not mandatory.
